Pharmaceuticals or Smoking - Either Way Isn’t Good
By Tom Nicoli, BCH, CI
It's no secret that smoking (and chewing) tobacco is harmful to your health. But hey, maybe you'll be lucky and not get lung cancer or lip cancer or any other cancer. Maybe you'll just have nasty gum disease, constant phlegm, ruin your voice and look older than you are because you have smoker's skin. I know, it's not a very nice picture and that's why so many people have a desire to finally stop smoking. The problem is how they're doing it.
People turn to pills faster than they turn into a fast food drive through. Putting one unnatural substance into your body to stop using another unnatural substance is ... well, unnatural. (Tobacco, the plant, may be natural but what you're smoking isn't.) It's almost insane at how people ignore the side effects that most prescription medication and over the counter products deliver. We all started out as non-smokers and can go back to how we once were and in a safe and healthy way… hypnosis.
First, let's look at the now most popular stop smoking prescription on the market, Chantix. Last November, the FDA began reviewing cases of suicidal thoughts and aggressive and erratic behavior in Chantix patients that were received from Pfizer (Chantix manufacturer), along with a number of reports from the media and internet sites. At the time, the agency (FDA) wrote on its web site that "a preliminary assessment reveals that many of the cases reflect new-onset of depressed mood, suicidal ideation and changes in emotion and behavior within days to weeks of taking Chantix."
Some Side Effects of Chantix - The most common side effects of CHANTIX include: nausea, sleep disturbance (trouble sleeping, changes in dreaming), constipation, gas and vomiting. Is this really an alternative? What's worse, the risk of smoking or all the negative side effects of using another substance to stop. This is a lose-lose situation. Either way you're sick, ill, diseased or dying.
But, now imagine using a safe, natural, timeless approach for behavior changes to end your smoking habit... hypnosis. Hypnosis is very misunderstood only because of the word itself. When we use guided imagery, visualization, meditation and other similar techniques that IS hypnosis. How good does it already feel to know you can stop smoking, have no cravings and do it while drifting into a daydream?
According to 600 different studies available on the internet involving 72,000 people - hypnosis is the #1 most effective way to quit smoking. You have a choice to smoke and risk ill health and even death or to stop. And when you look at the choice of how to stop using the safe, natural and effective approach, hypnosis, it's a no brainer. How nice will it be to finally go back to the non smoker you were born as?
Health is a Matter of Choice
